Welcome to Lancastria Labradors

My name is Maureen D'Arcy I have had dogs for the past 35 years. My background is in horses and other animals.

Within the breeding world it is important to ensure good confirmation, movement, bone structure and sound breeding stock.

My greatest pleasure is being with my labradors they are all wonderful companions.

Having lived my life with a variety of dogs I have always leaned towards clever working types such as collies, lurchers and russels. Stanley, my first Labrador came to me by chance. His owner became ill and wondered if I might know someone with horses who would like him. At the time he was in kennels so I thought it wise to have a look at him so that I would know what I was talking about. Once seen I was hooked this happy guy won our hearts. Stan came to join our family and transformed our home into ‘yellow lab world’!!

It was not long before my thirty years experience of producing, showing, breeding and judging horses at top level was put to use. Many years ago an old ‘nags man’ said it cost just as much to keep a good horse as a bad one. With this in mind I used my background to find the sort of Labrador I wanted. After some false starts I was lucky enough to meet Lorraine Tooth who let me bring home Summer. The rest is history I gained two special friends Lorraine and Summer. My dog world family continues to grow with both humans and canines and I consider myself very lucky to be part of it.

I am a committee member of the North West Labrador Retriever Club, I work for Labrador Rescue and I judge Labradors too.

My kennel club registered name is Lancastria.
